Matthew D. Powers
is a member of Powers & Company strategic advisory and consulting firm. While pursuing his law degree from Albany Law School of Union University, Mr. Powers interned at the Office of Attorney General of the State of New York , and assisted in the creation of the Science & Technology Law Center at Albany Law School . Mr. Powers is currently a member of the Albany County Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association, and the American Bar Association.
Mr. Powers has been the principal engagement member for Powers & Company on several high profile assignments for major corporate statutory, regulatory, and procurement issues before many New York State municipalities, the New York State Legislature, the New York State Governor's Office, the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance, the New York State Thruway, the New York State Chief Information Officer and the Office for Technology, the New York State Public Service Commission, the New York State Department of Labor, and the New York State Department of Health.
As a former counsel to the New York Republican State Committee, Mr. Powers is equipped with a strong political background. He has served as a consultant for numerous national, state, and local elections.
